XXL-Fracht für die Beluga in Bremen – Abenteuer Flughafen

In this episode of Die Nordreportage we follow a very special guest in the skies over Bremen: the Airbus BelugaXL. With its distinctive whale shape, it turns heads wherever it appears. There are only six of these transport aircraft in Europe, and one of them comes to Bremen regularly. Its enormous cargo hold carries two complete wings of the Airbus A350, which are fitted with landing flaps here. The BelugaXL lands in the Hanseatic city several times a week. Then the ground crew runs through a meticulous programme: exactly 70 minutes from touchdown to take-off to handle the giant, from the control tower to the pushback tug.
